SKYLIST CEO to Present Sender ID Implementation Challenges Facing Email Service Providers at Microsoft Summit
Email Sender and Provider Coalition Steering Committee Member also Debuts Deliverability Consulting as Part of Ongoing Email Authentication Strategy
AUSTIN, Texas - August 9, 2004 - As concerns associated with deliverability of email marketing campaigns and false positive bounce backs continue to exacerbate the growing spam epidemic, SKYLIST, a provider of email marketing solutions and steering committee member of the Email Sender and Provider Coalition (ESPC), today announced its CEO, Joshua Baer, will discuss implementation challenges facing email service providers during a one hour panel at the full-day Summit on Microsoft's Sender ID Framework, to be held at Microsoft's Redmond, Washington campus on August 12th.
Regarded as an industry expert on authentication and deliverability and an active participant on the speaking circuit, Mr. Baer has discussed related topics at recent conferences and events including the Email Technology Conference, INBOX, Ferris Research, and Jupiter Internet Planet.
"Authentication plays a pivotal role in email marketing best practices and CAN-SPAM compliance," said Joshua Baer, CEO of SKYLIST and ESPC Steering Committee Member and co-chair of the Vendor Relations sub-committee. "By its early support of authentication programs such as Sender ID-with an integrated cross-ISP approach-SKYLIST ensures clients' email deliverability remains high as emerging industry standards roll out."
New Delivery Consulting Service Ensures Legitimate Email Makes it into the Inbox
In related news, today SKYLIST also announced a new deliverability and ISP relations consulting service designed to help clients increase the efficacy of their email marketing campaigns. Using a two phase approach, the service begins by performing a detailed analysis of a client's member signup process, current delivery status, complaint monitoring and content analysis, making recommendations for improvement. In Phase 2, SKYLIST manages the whitelist and certification processes at all applicable ISPs including the Bonded Sender Program, Brightmail, AOL, Yahoo, Outblaze, and many other ISPs, providing ongoing analysis, automated monitoring tools, and statistical reporting on a weekly or monthly basis.
"SPF, Sender ID, DomainKeys and the Email Sender and Provider Coalition's Project Lumos, all address email authentication as the initial foundation of any solution to the spam problem," said Mr. Baer. "Once authentication is in place, the industry can develop accreditation programs to certify and classify email senders and reputation systems to distinguish good senders from bad ones. Only then will effective enforcement options be available - whether based on successful delivery, financial cost, or legal action."
Early support of Sender ID is the latest in a series of initiatives the company has spearheaded in order to discuss the important role authentication plays in email marketing best practices and CAN-SPAM compliance. In July 2004, the company announced the StormPost™ email marketing system is 100% compliant with the SPF (Sender Policy Framework) standard.
